You probably already know that it is not a good idea to travel during Memorial Day, Spring Break, the Fourth of July, and Thanksgiving as these are the biggest travel days in the United States, but these are not the only days you shouldn’t travel.

It is best not to travel to a city where the political parties are holding their conventions. This year the Democratic Convention is being held in Denver from August 25 to the 28th. The Republican party’s convention is being held in Minneapolis from September 1st to the 4th. During these times there will be lots of people, tight security as well as protesters that will ruin your holiday.

Another important date to remember is February 17th. The 50th Daytona 500 takes place in Daytona Beach, Florida and it will be impossible to rent a car or do anything else. Even your trip to Disneyland will be ruined by long lines and NASCAR fans.

Hurricane season is also an important consideration. Hurricanes affect Louisiana, Florida, the Caribbean as well as much of the Atlantic coast of the United States. It is best to avoid these areas during hurricane season.

Also it is important to follow the news and ant recent events that may affect your travel, such as airline strikes or other problems.
